Charley Weldrick

Prior to joining Drystone Chambers as a third-six pupil in December 2025, Charley completed an 18 month criminal pupillage at 2 Bedford Row. Charley has developed a predominately criminal practice defending and prosecuting in the Crown, Magistrates’ and Youth Courts.  Alongside his criminal work, Charley has experience in a variety of regulatory fields.

Prior to pupillage, Charley undertook pro bono work representing individuals at social security tribunals with the Yorkshire Tribunal Advocacy project. He also undertook pro bono work in employment law, representing individuals at every stage of proceedings in employment tribunals through Leeds Free Legal Representation. Charley maintains this interest in pro bono work and regularly accepts instruction through the charity Advocate.

Charley is on the Lexis Nexis ‘Meet the Experts’ panel and regularly contributes pieces of writing to the legal database.

In his spare time, Charley is an avid reader and chess player. He supports Hull City.
