R v Q, Blackfriars Crown Court - secured the acquittal of a man charged with theft from employer, despite damning CCTV evidence.
R v C & Others, Snaresbrook Crown Court - successfully argued for a community order following trial for non-domestic burglary.
R v A, Guildford Crown Court - secured a community order for a lady charged with two sophisticated frauds by false representation committed in one week to a total value of £18,000.
R v B, Wood Green Crown Court - secured a suspended sentence order for a young man who, as part of a group in a public park, was caught with a butterfly knife and large kitchen knife on his person.
R v I, Harrow Crown Court - convinced the court to give a deferred sentence rather than immediate custody for a man who has falsely claimed wages of over £45,000 over a 12 month period from his former employer for him to pay back the money. Back before the court in March.
R v H, Wood Green Crown Court - secured a suspended sentence for a man who pleaded to being in possession of articles for use in fraud. He had previously received custodial sentences for like offences.
R v S, Newport (Isle of Wight) Crown Court - successfully argued for a community order for a lady who had held herself out to be collecting money for a local charity, instead keeping the sum of £10,000 to fund her own child’s care.
Re: M, Lewes Crown Court - secured a youth rehabilitation order for a young man charged with robbery. His co-Defendant received a DTO.
Magistrates and Youth Court
R v M, Oxford Magistrates’ Court - secured an acquittal for a gentleman charged with assaulting his teenage son. Case included legal argument from disclosure to bad character and considered questioning as all parties were vulnerable.
R v W, Ipswich Youth Court - successful defence of a youth accused of criminal damage and harassment of his teenage girlfriend.
R v M, Colchester Youth Court - secured a referral order for a youth charged with rape and attempted rape of his 9 year old brother. Argued against the need for a Sexual Harm Prevention Order in this case.
R v D, Ipswich Youth Court - secured a referral order for a young girl who had been convicted of assaulting her mother by biting and stabbing her with a screwdriver at separate trials.
