Nicholas Bleaney is a hugely experienced senior junior counsel with 35 years of experience in the full spectrum of serious criminal cases.

He is regularly instructed to prosecute and defend and specialises in sexual offences, including both current and historical offences, and is frequently called upon to cross examine children alleging sexual misconduct.

He has forged an impressive reputation as a prosecutor for being fair with opponents and defendants. When defending he is tenacious, and a skilled cross-examiner who gets to the heart of the issue.

As a retired racing driver, he has a deep understanding of motoring related offending and regularly deals with serious driving offences.

Nicholas has considerable experience defending clients in difficult and challenging cases, including those facing allegations of murder and/or manslaughter.

Nicholas has experience of prosecuting and defending allegations of people trafficking and offences under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Nicholas has substantial experience in prosecuting and defending serious sexual offences, including both current and historical offences. He is frequently called upon to cross examine children alleging sexual misconduct.

A large proportion of Nicholas’ practice is prosecuting and defending clients charged with serious sexual offences, including complex historical sexual offences.

Nicholas has extensive experience defending in Court Marital cases.

Extensive experience both prosecuting and defending in the full range of road traffic and motoring offences.

His previous experience as a racing driver, means he has extensive knowledge of issues relating to car control and behaviour.
