Charles Falk successfully prosecutes cathedral musician charged with child sex offences
15 August 2019
Charles Falk recently concluded a case at Cambridge Crown Court regarding a cathedral musician who used his position to commit child sex offences. Scott Farrell, 48, used his position to befriend three young boys and their parents before subjecting them to abuse. Farrell would show the boys, who were aged between 13 and 15, pornography in his flat and encouraged them to touch themselves as he also masturbated.
Mr Falk told the court "He groomed the children and gained their trust to commit these offences and made the children think it was normal.” Farrell was jailed for five years, with the addition of a 15-year sexual harm prevention order and put on the sex offenders register for life.
