Drystone Chambers Robert Bryan secures acquittal for his client charged with causing death by dangerous driving and causing death whilst unfit through drugs following an 8 day trial at Chelmsford Crown Court. The case concerned the tragic death of a motorcyclist involved in a head-on collision with another’s car.

The Prosecution’s case was that defendant was racing in his Subaru car through a housing estate in Braintree, Essex chasing after the high-powered Yamaha motorcycle driven by the deceased. Tragically the motorcyclist lost control colliding head-on with another car.  The case involved careful analysis of private CCTV footage set against eye-witness testimony and the cross-examination of the Prosecution Expert as to speed calculations and the limitations of CCTV evidence.

After an 8-day trial the Jury acquitted him of any involvement in causing the death and were undecided whether he had even driven dangerously.  Robert was instructed by Paula Hadleigh at Patterson Law.
