Kassia Pletscher successfully defends client on domestic burglary charge
2 October 2019
Kassia Pletscher, instructed by Montague Solicitors, recently appeared for the defence in respect of a domestic burglary trial. The defendant was stopped by the police, together with his co-defendant, just around the corner from where a burglary had been reported 15 minutes earlier. He was wearing a jacket, which the victim of the burglary identified as belonging to him, and his co-defendant had a rucksack filled with several other items taken from the flat. Both defendants were said to have been equipped for burglary, as they were carrying torches, gloves and a ‘multi-tool’ (similar to a Swiss army knife). After 3 days of evidence, the defendant was found not guilty of domestic burglary, and convicted instead of handling stolen goods.
