Lynne Shirley, Ahmed Muen and Vaneeta Sharma join Drystone Chambers

Lynne, an experienced Criminal Law specialist called in 2002, joins us from East Anglian Chambers. She is a highly respected jury advocate, whose practice encompasses regulatory offences and all areas of serious crime, predominantly sexual offences, drugs and fraud. As well as being a robust advocate, Lynne has a wealth of experience with defendants and witnesses who are young, vulnerable and have a range of medical and mental health difficulties.
Ahmed, called in 2014, joins us from Holborn Chambers. He practises all areas of Criminal Law and is regularly instructed by defence solicitors and the CPS undertaking both defence and prosecution work. Whilst his focus is on Criminal Law Ahmed also deals with Immigration Law; he is fluent is Arabic and has strong connections within the Iraqi community, having represented and advised many of them on sensitive legal issues. He is currently President of the Arab Lawyers Association.
Vaneeta, called in 2016, also joins us from Holborn Chambers. Vaneeta has a broad criminal practice and is regularly instructed on matters ranging from driving offences, possession and supply of drugs, violent offences, theft and sexual offences. She is known for her attention to detail, cross-examination skills and her ability to advise on the effective preparation, plea and possible outcomes in cases.
All three new members bring with them a wealth of expertise and experience to further bolster our Criminal law and Immigration Law specialist teams.
