The following article, co-authored by Barnaby Hone and Aqeel Noorali, contains a fairly comprehensive overview of ramifications emanating from the Proceeds of Crime act 2002 (POCA 2002) when dealing with international asset recovery. Barnaby and Aqeel explain the four stages in international asset recovery (focusing on confiscation), then look at the legislative framework for international co-operation in conviction for asset recovery cases, focusing on the registration and execution of EU and non-EU restraint and confiscation orders by UK authorities.
