Rebecca Penfold successful in First-Tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum)

29 January 2018

Rebecca Penfold recently acted for an Appellant before the First-Tier Tribunal on appeal against a decision by the Home Office to deport him. The Appellant, a spouse of an EEA National, had served a significant term of imprisonment further to a conviction for fraud. Rebecca successfully argued that the Appellant did not represent a genuine, present and sufficiently serious threat to justify deportation. The Immigration Judge found favour in Rebecca’s submissions and allowed the appeal. Rebecca was instructed by Cecilia Goodwin of Stephensons Solicitors.
