Zarif Khan succeeds on a terminating ruling at the Court of Appeal for Director of a College charged with contravening Tier 4 immigration visas

Zarif Khan successfully submitted that there was ‘no case to answer’ when representing one of the Directors of Manchester Trinity College. Following a high profile BBC Panorama investigation, ‘Operation Bellman’ (a Home Office prosecution under direction of the then Home Secretary Theresa May) charged the Directors with conspiracy to Facilitate the Commission of a Breach of Immigration Law contrary to section 1(1) of the Criminal Law Act 1977 and in contravention of section 25(1) of the Immigration Act 1971, to obtain Tier 4 visa’s.
