Unyime Davies awarded inaugural Innocence Project London Pro Bono Lawyer Award for 2026

7 October 2026

Drystone Chambers is delighted to announce that Unyime Davies has been awarded the inaugural Innocence Project London Pro Bono Lawyer Award for 2026. Unyime has been working with the Innocence Project London (IPL) for nearly 3 years, supporting their work for one client in particular.

Dr Louise Hewitt, IPL Director said “Unyime has supported the students and has been instrumental in encouraging the police to recover the exhibits in the case from storage and subsequently review decision-making, with a view to testing our client’s clothing, which has never been forensically examined. Without Unyime’s dedication and passion for innocence work, we would not have moved this case forward as much as we have. Her commitment to pro bono is a demonstration of excellence.”

The Innocence Project London is a pro bono law clinic and charity that examines claims of innocence from convicted individuals who have exhausted the criminal appeals process. Based at the University of Greenwich, students work alongside academics and lawyers to support clients in making an application to the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC).
