Ahmed Muen secures unanimous acquittals in a rape case at Southwark Crown Court

The Crown’s case was the defendant had recorded the rape and footage was played to the jury. The defence contested the footage had been manipulated and altered. After 7 days at Southwark Crown Court the jury acquitted the defendant of rape, controlling and coercive behaviour, threatening to disclose sexual photographs and videos and theft. The jury were unable to reach a verdict on a further count of sexual assault but following representations made the CPS decided not to seek a retrial.
