An armed royal protection officer who lost ammunition in the grounds of Buckingham Palace has been dismissed for gross misconduct following a police misconduct hearing today. Unyime Davies represented the Metropolitan Police at today’s hearing in London.
The background to the case was that on 6th December 2022, PC Stephen Cotgreave was an armed officer on patrol on the grounds of Buckingham Palace when he dropped the magazine from his weapon and lost a 9mm round. The round remained missing on the Palace grounds for eight days during which time PC Cotgreave was dishonest about what had occurred.
Unyime Davies was instructed to advise and represent the Metropolitan Police at an early stage in the proceedings.
