Drystone Chambers successful in re-tender for the Barristers Legal Services Framework panel of the London Boroughs’ Legal Alliance (LBLA)

Chambers is delighted to announce that following a successful tender we have once again been appointed to the Barristers Legal Services Framework panel of the London Boroughs’ Legal Alliance (LBLA), which now consists of 26 local authority members and the London Fire Commission.  The framework will also be available to other local authorities within Greater London and South-East England.

In recognition of our expertise in criminal litigation and regulatory crime, we have been selected as legal advisers in‘Criminal Litigation and Prosecutions’ which will entail the provision of specialist advice and advocacy services across the full range of enforcement work undertaken by the member authorities, including:

  • Trading Standards & Health & Safety, including food hygiene
  • Fraud in relation to all areas of local authority activities, including Blue Badge, social care, tenancy fraud and corporate fraud
  • Full range of prosecution / enforcement work undertaken by local authorities including planning, licensing (including HMO, Landlord, private rented sector and Housing health and safety rating schemes licensing matters) and education and environmental crime (including fly tipping, noise prosecutions, nuisance, ASB, policing and Care Act)
  • POCA
  • Housing Act 2004 enforcements
  • Appeals in Magistrates Court regarding notices under Highways Act
  • Appeals against noise abatement
  • Community protection notices
  • Penalty notices under Housing

The new framework will commence on 1st January 2024 for a period of three years with an option to extend for a further 12 months to 31 December 2027.
