We are delighted to announce that David Frend has accepted an invitation to join Chambers.

Called to the Bar in 1994, and an Associate Member at Drystone Chambers since 2018, David practised in criminal defence work before commissioning into the British Army Legal Services in 1997. Over 17 years, David prosecuted before the Court Martial and Court Martial Appeal Court, advised commanders on discipline, administrative and employment matters, and on operational law. Retiring from the British Army in 2014, David became a CPS Specialist Prosecutor (Proceeds of Crime), before returning to the independent Bar in 2016. That year David founded Beaumont-Heritage Ltd, consulting for defence, policing and security sectors. In 2018, David became a partner at Proelium Law LLP and joined the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), focusing on anti-corruption, anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism.

Head of Chambers, Allison Summers K.C. said “David brings to Chambers a wealth of experience. We look forward to utilising his experience and expertise as we develop new streams of work under the leadership of our new Practice Director, Chris Feathers“.
