Alice Carver

Associate tenant Alice Carver is currently working with Priestleys Attorneys in the Cayman Islands, having been called to the Cayman Bar in 2015.

Alice is a versatile advocate operating largely in the criminal courts and immigration tribunals in addition to her regulatory experience.

Alice often represents both the UKBA and appellants in the First Tier Immigration Tribunal and is instructed in appeals to the Upper Tribunal. She has experience in all areas of immigration including asylum and has delivered seminars on article 8 and the impact of changes to the immigration rules in this area. She has had considerable success in
article 8 appeals for appellants.

Appearances in the criminal courts extend to the Court of Appeal where Alice represented an appellant for an out of time appeal against an IPP sentence. She regularly appears in the Crown Court and Magistrates’ Court and has particular expertise in relation to fraud and money laundering having worked on several international fraud cases during
her year at Tuckers Solicitors.

She is a member of the Health and Safety Lawyers Association and has experience in a solicitors firm with both prosecution and defence. She currently accepts instructions for defence work in this area. In addition she has regularly appeared in extradition cases and has advised on appeals to the High Court.

PREVIOUS RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Alice completed a predominantly criminal pupillage during which she advised on appeal in a multi-million pound confiscation case. She also gained significant extradition experience and regularly drafted advices in this area.
