Drystone Chambers Karen Walton’s client acquitted of 5 counts of rape during 5 year relationship.
The case, which dated back to 2016, involved purported confession evidence and social media evidence. The allegations were that the defendant was said to have repeatedly raped his ex-partner when she was asleep. The case involved messages between the parties at the end of the relationship that showed the defendant, on the face of the messages, admitting to the sexual acts.
