Benjamin Thiele-Long
Call 2006
Benjamin Thiele-Long is an established and well-regarded criminal barrister who also brings significant experience as a strategic C-suite and board advisor to multi-national organisations in the USA and Europe.
Since his call to the bar in 2006 Benjamin has established himself as a tenacious and persuasive advocate, with a forensic eye to detail when both prosecuting and defending, and style described as “extremely clear and able” by The Court of Appeal.
Over the last two decades, he has built a substantial practice in three key areas; fraud, serious sexual offences (especially historic cases), and cases involving defendants and victims with mental disorders, all informed by his experience outside the bar working in investor relations and with those with psychiatric disorders.
He has in-depth experience of complex white-collar crime and drug importation offences, including defending one of the largest cannabis importations into the UK to date, as well as multiple high-profile and complex sexual offences involving vulnerable child and adult victims.
Outside of law, Benjamin has advised companies in the USA, Europe, and Asia as a communications and corporate affairs consultant. Internationally, he has advised on over 50 global mergers and IPO roadshows, investor days, and earnings for NYSE, NASDAQ, and LSE-listed companies.
Throughout his international consultancy career, he has advised businesses operating in regulated sectors, both publicly listed and privately held. He has also media trained over 150 different CEOs, Founders, and Board Members of some of the world’s biggest banks, tech companies, and consumer brands.
In addition to being an Inns of Court advocacy trainer, he is considered a respected industry expert known for his uniquely no-nonsense, practical, and relatable approach to presentation training and issues and crisis management. His first book, “How to be Utterly Brilliant at Public Speaking, Presenting, and Talking to the Media” is available internationally, published by LID publishing.
