Drystone Chambers is delighted to announce that Unyime Davies has been appointed to The Football Association’s Safeguarding Review Panel.
The Football Association is responsible for the governance and development of football in England, across the grassroots, amateur and professional game. Its Safeguarding Review Panel plays an important role within the FA’s safeguarding arrangements, bringing independent scrutiny to complex matters concerning welfare, risk and participant protection. Panel members are appointed to assist with the fair and careful consideration of safeguarding issues and to support robust, transparent decision-making in the interests of safety across the sport.
Unyime Davies is a highly experienced barrister specialising in regulatory enforcement, professional discipline and criminal law. She is regularly instructed in complex, sensitive and high-profile proceedings.
Her practice includes extensive work before healthcare and professional disciplinary tribunals, acting for both regulators and registrants. She also acts as a Legally Qualified Chair and as an Independent Legal Adviser in professional discipline and fitness to practise proceedings. Her wider health and social care practice includes inquest proceedings, CQC and Ofsted enforcement, safeguarding and regulatory compliance.
Unyime’s safeguarding experience includes cases involving vulnerable witnesses, children, health and social care settings, institutional abuse, and interim protective measures. She also has wider sports disciplinary experience, including as a Sports Resolution Pro Bono Service Panel Member and as a Legally Qualified Chair on the Paddle UK Disciplinary and Appeal Panel.
Unyime looks forward to commencing her work on the Panel.
